Sandy Kofax is perhaps - the Only Baseball Pitcher to Sign as a Major leaguer without pitching in The Minors.

At 19 Kofax was hired by The Dodgers.

Not Trusted by the manager because he was inexperinced - Kofax rarely pitched. And he was "Wild".

After 6 years of Struggling to throw Strikes. Kofax was told by a catcher.

Suddenly Kofax was striking out 10 batters in a row. Nobody could hit His Fastball or His Curve. Even when he threw slower.

How I Almost Got Killed
by a Curve Ball

While playing Catch before the Summer Tennis Court Opened.

A guy came up to me and asked, "Want to see a Curve Ball?"

I said, "Sure. Throw me a couple."

SCARY.

First time it was coming towards my glove. Pretty Slow too. Then the Ball Swerved to hit my Shoulder.

Second time I was more Careful. The Darn ball Curved up to smack me in the face. But I hit the ground FAST."

Told the Guy.

"Enough. I quit. You're going to kill me. "

How in the Dickens does a Catcher do his job?
